Fundraising Success For Cwmaber Infants
An incredible £1,550 has been raised by Cwmaber Infants School during their most successful sponsored event to date.
The school raised the outstanding amount for Trinity Fields School, which provides education and specialist facilities for pupils aged 3-19 with a wide range of learning disabilities.
Held within Cwmaber Infants’ School grounds, the sponsored walk, while using a different method of locomotion, saw over 100 pupils, staff, parents and governors descend and take part in the fundraising activity on Friday 24th June, as part of an opening ceremony for their Sports Day.
A ‘Thank-you’ assembly was held after the sponsored walk, which Mr Elliot, Head Teacher of Trinity Fields, attended and was presented with a cheque by Max, whose brother attends Trinity Fields.
The money raised will be put towards a special wheelchair swing for the pupils to enjoy.
Mr Elliot said, “I am so overwhelmed by the response from Cwmaber Infants, I thoroughly enjoyed the pupils’ performances during the assembly and I would love to return to teach the children some sign language to use with their singing.”
Both, Mr Elliot and Mrs Jayne Price, Head Teacher of Cwmaber Infants, would like to extend a big thank you to all involved. Mrs Price said, “I am absolutely delighted at the generosity and kindness of our school community. Both schools look forward to working together in the future.”
Cllr Derek Havard, cabinet member for education and lifelong learning said, “Well done to everyone involved for raising such an outstanding amount, I am sure this will be of huge benefit to Trinity Fields and it is great to see two schools working together in order to provide facilities for the pupils. I look forward to hearing about future projects they may have together.”
