Half Term Activities In Caerphilly County Borough
June half term is packed full of fantastic events for children throughout Caerphilly county borough.
Cwmcarn Forest has lots to see and do throughout half term, with a bird seed cookie workshop starting things off on Tuesday 31st May from 10am until 12:45pm.
Children are invited to come along and make some tasty bird seed cookies using a special recipe for garden birds to enjoy.
This event costs £2.50 per child and is suitable for those aged 3 and up. Booking is advisable as spaces are limited.
On Thursday 2nd June, get crafty making upcycled herby funny face planters using recycled pop bottles and transforming them into pots to hold soil and herb seeds ready to take home and enjoy.
This event will run from 10am until 2:15pm, costs £2.50 per child and is suitable for those aged 3 and above. Booking is advisable as spaces are limited.
Cwmcarn Forest will also host a monk’s walk with cream tea on Saturday 4th June, with a scenic stroll around the Cwmcarn valley tracing the footsteps of monks. This is followed by a cream tea at Ravens Café.
The event will begin at 10:30am, with a cost of £5 per adult and £3 per child. The walk involves some small climbs and is suitable for children aged 8 and above. Dogs are welcome. Booking is advisable as spaces are limited.
Come along to Blackwood Miners’ Institute this half term and see a show! On Wednesday 1st June, performances of King of the Sky will be on at 11am and 2pm.
King of the Sky is an uplifting tale about a young boy who is drawn into an unlikely friendship with a retired miner and his champion racing pigeons.
Suitable for children age 6 and above, tickets for King of the Sky cost £4.50 for adults, £3.50 for children and £14 for a family ticket.
Sports fans can enjoy netball and football camps throughout Caerphilly county borough during half term, where children will have the opportunity to take part in games and competitions, while developing their sporting skills.
Football camps will be held at the Centre for Sporting Excellence on Tuesday 31st May and Wednesday 1st June, as well as Pontllanfraith Leisure Centre on Thursday 2nd June and Friday 3rd June. The camps will run from 10am until 3pm and are suitable for children age 7 to 12.
