Half Term In Full Swing
With half term in full swing families are urged to venture outdoors and enjoy local country parks and playgrounds.
With the weather breaking Caerphilly county’s playgrounds, sports pitches and multi-use games areas provide the ideal outdoor spaces for the whole family.
The 5 main parks of the county are Bargoed Park, Morgan Jones Park, Sir Harold Finch Memorial Park, Waunfawr Park and Nelson Wern Woodland Park. They provide the perfect place for a relaxing stroll, a picnic with the family or fun and games on the climbing frames.
Cllr. Nigel George, Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure Services, said, “We recognise the importance of providing safe and stimulating children’s playgrounds. We are continually looking for opportunities to improve our existing 173 playgrounds and develop new provisions where possible.”
As the seasons change the country parks are also a must visit attraction, they offer spectacular views and the opportunity to spot some unique wildlife. In addition to the beautiful landscapes, the country parks also play host a range of family activities and events throughout the year, from fly fishing in Pen-y-Fan Pond to feathery box and bird feeder making in Cwm Darran Parc.
