Hundred’s celebrate St. David’s Day across Caerphilly

Hundreds of people celebrated St. David’s across Caerphilly county borough at a number of free events which took place on Saturday 27 February. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Events were held at Blackwood, Bargoed, Caerphilly, Blackwood and Risca. Crowds were able to enjoy live music from Markham & District Brass Band, Rhymney Silurian Male Choir, Oakdale Silver Band, Mynyddislwyn Male Voice Choir, BTM Next Generation, Aber Valley Male Voice Choir, Crosskeys Silver Band and Newbridge & District Ladies Choir. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Visitors to Bargoed also had the special treat of getting to take a look inside the Welsh Rugby Team Coach thanks to Edwards Coaches, and get a glimpse of how international rugby stars travel in style. To keep all members of the family entertained there were street entertainers and free face painting at all events. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The sound of the national anthem rang out across the borough at 2PM to mark the closing of the celebrations. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
