Hundred’s celebrate St. David’s Day across Caerphilly

Hundreds of people celebrated St. David’s across Caerphilly county borough at a number of free events which took place on Saturday 27 February.
Events were held at Blackwood, Bargoed, Caerphilly, Blackwood and Risca. Crowds were able to enjoy live music from Markham & District Brass Band, Rhymney Silurian Male Choir, Oakdale Silver Band, Mynyddislwyn Male Voice Choir, BTM Next Generation, Aber Valley Male Voice Choir, Crosskeys Silver Band and Newbridge & District Ladies Choir.
Visitors to Bargoed also had the special treat of getting to take a look inside the Welsh Rugby Team Coach thanks to Edwards Coaches, and get a glimpse of how international rugby stars travel in style. To keep all members of the family entertained there were street entertainers and free face painting at all events.
The sound of the national anthem rang out across the borough at 2PM to mark the closing of the celebrations.
