Jingle All The Way… To Blackwood This Weekend

The sun shone in Bargoed and Risca on Saturday (26th November) as visitors turned out in great numbers to enjoy the annual Bargoed and Risca Christmas Markets. Visitors of all ages enjoyed a range of Christmas activities in both town centres, with street entertainment, festive stalls and much more on offer. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The attention now turns to Blackwood for the ever-popular Blackwood Christmas Market which takes place on Saturday 3rd December between 9am and 5pm and Sunday 4th December between 10am and 4pm. The town centre will be filled to the brim with festive cheer, with stalls and entertainment aplenty for visitors to enjoy. There will be real reindeer to see, and of course a Santa’s grotto inside Tidal’s Store, where younger visitors can meet the man himself. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Add to this children’s rides and a lantern making workshop where children can get crafty ready for the lantern parade which will come to the town on Thursday 8th December, Blackwood Christmas Market really is shaping up to be an unforgettable weekend for visitors to enjoy. As a special finale to Saturday 3rd December’s festivities, Santa will be riding through Blackwood town centre on his sleigh at 4.30pm to switch on the town’s Christmas lights. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Hot on the heels of Blackwood Christmas Market is Caerphilly Christmas Market, which takes place on Saturday 10th December between 9am and 5pm and Sunday 11th December between 10am and 4pm. Experience the sights, sounds and smells of a town and castle preparing for Christmas, with over 100 food, craft and gift stalls, captivating street entertainment and funfair rides. There’s also a separate Farmers Market and Craft Fayre, complementing the town’s blend of independent and high street stores. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Why not also enter the castle for a medieval twist, with lots of fun entertainment and attractions on offer. Normal admission applies. And what Christmas Market would be complete without a Santa’s grotto for Children to meet Santa himself! The Love Caerphilly Shop on Cardiff Road will have a Santa’s grotto between 10am and 4pm on both days. Entrance is £3.50 per child. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
