Last Chance To Nominate A Sporting Hero!

It’s your last chance to nominate a sporting hero for a Sport Caerphilly Sport Award. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Nominations close on Friday 25 November for the awards which which recognise the hard work and dedication of sports volunteers, coaches and clubs throughout Caerphilly county borough. The Sport Caerphilly Sport Awards is an initiative that acknowledges the endeavour, innovation and commitment of those who have helped to make more people, more active more often and hooked on sport for life. The nominations were open to all club, schools, community groups individual volunteers within the county borough. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The categories are: – ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

  • Community coach of the year – For an exceptional individual who deserves recognition for their outstanding voluntary contribution to sport in their community
  • Young volunteer of the year (under 18) – This award recognises the outstanding contribution of a young volunteer in getting more people starting, staying and/or succeeding in sport/physical activity through high quality delivery
  • Volunteer of the year (18 and over) – This award recognises the outstanding contribution of a volunteer in getting more people starting, staying and/or succeeding in sport/physical activity through high quality delivery
  • Club of the year – This award recognises the work that clubs within the community are doing to provide opportunity and provision of sport to all
  • Inclusive coach of the year – An individual who has shown a great deal of commitment & passion whilst working with specific target groups such as women and girls, race, disability and deprivation
  • Lifetime to Sport in Caerphilly Award – This award is for an individual who has demonstrated great enthusiasm, dedication and commitment in making a significant impact to the provision of sport within their community over a number of years.

The deadline for applications in Friday 25 November 2016 and nominations can be made by visiting Sport Caerphilly Sport Awards section. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The awards evening will be held in January 2017. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
