Five ladies within the Caerphilly borough have completely transformed their lives by losing a combined 195lbs in weight. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

With their weight loss being equivalent to a male adult, the ladies; Carrie Davies, Jenny Jones, Melanie Shurn, Samantha Surman and Bethany Williams have improved their confidence and their happiness. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

By changing their diet and attending Risca Leisure Centre to take part in classes, the ladies have not only become healthier and fitter but have also found a very supportive group of friends, including their class instructor Tracey Hughes. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Tracey started working at the leisure centre back in November 2015 and already her reputation has received a huge boost with a steady increase of people attending her classes each week. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Tracey said, “We provide various classes to suit everyone and these five girls have tried them all! They have all worked hard and it is easy to see the change in all of their shapes, sizes and confidence since I have started here. Well done girls! ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

She continues, “Each week we have the consistent group attending the kettle bells, pump and spin classes however, we seem to find more and more. It is great to see how popular they have become.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Samantha Surman who lost 28lbs said, “I wanted to get fit and I was conscious as I was getting older the scales were going up rather than down, so I bought myself a fit-bit and since I found myself coming to the leisure centre so often I decided to become a member.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Melanie Shurn, lost an incredible 55lbs, said “I wanted a completely new start and Tracey supported me from day one. I was adamant I would not attend any of her classes so; to begin with Tracey started me off with walking. I then decided to join one of the classes and have been coming ever since. I am also a member of weight watchers but I know without the exercise I would not lose the weight.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Both ladies went on to say how they now feel happier and more confident within themselves and cannot believe the impact their own weight loss has had on their family, with some family members also joining the leisure centre membership. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
