Caerphilly County Borough Council is hosting two open days in Rowan Place, Rhymney for prospective tenants to view homes available to rent. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The open days are being held in addition to a previous event held in June, where both current and prospective tenants attended to give their views on improvements to the estate. These improvements are being carried out as part of a targeted regeneration programme which will see over £4 million invested into homes and the wider environment in Rowan Place. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Open days will be held from 4pm – 5:30pm on Thursday 11th August and Thursday 8th September. Officers from the council’s Caerphilly Homes team will be on hand to answer any queries and to take visitors on viewings of a show property. They will also have free activities available to keep children entertained. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Homes currently ready to rent are a mix of 2 bedroom ground and first floor flats, each with its own private garden. All of these flats have benefitted from extensive refurbishments, including new kitchen and bathroom. The homes are only available to families with one child, but the council welcomes applications from people not currently on its waiting list. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Cllr David Poole, the council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Housing, said “Since the council embarked on the Rowan Place regeneration programme, the area has seen a massive transformation. The open days are an opportunity for people to see this dramatic change for themselves and also to view the homes that are currently available for rent.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
