The Natural Buzz Project, based at Morgan Jones Park in Caerphilly, has gone from strength to strength since its inception this summer. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The project has transformed an area of Morgan Jones Park including a mown grass bank, which is now home to 1,500 metres of wildflowers for the benefit of pollinators, as well as being a beautiful sight for visitors to the park. The site works were undertaken by trainees from the LIFT programme, who also worked with Keep Wales Tidy and Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Parks Team to construct and install a viewing area and picnic bench at the top of the new wildflower meadow. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The Natural Buzz project is an environmental initiative which looks to give pollinators such as bees and butterflies a helping hand, particularly due to the recent decline in pollinators. The project delivers action on the ground to benefit biodiversity and deliver community benefits in the surrounding areas. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Cllr Ken James, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning and Sustainable Development said: “I am delighted that the Natural Buzz Project has continued to grow at Morgan Jones Park. Environmental initiatives such as Natural Buzz really do make all the difference to our pollinators and it is vital that we continue to protect them, due to the essential role they carry out”. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Morgan Jones Park is just one of 9 sites across Wales showcasing the wider benefits of providing a purpose built environment for pollinating insects. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The Natural Buzz Project is run by Keep Wales Tidy and funded by the Welsh Government. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
