New Homes For Caerphilly
A ground breaking ceremony has taken place at a landmark development in Caerphilly.
Beech Tree Gardens will see the construction of 34 homes for sale and rent, close to the centre of Caerphilly under the harmoni homes brand.
The development will enable more homes to be constructed on land which is currently owned by Caerphilly County Borough Council following the signing of an agreement between the Council and the United Welsh Group.
A mixture of three and four-bed homes for sale alongside two and three bedroom homes and one-bed apartments for rent will be built on the Beech Tree Gardens development at Watford Road which is adjacent to the award-winning ‘The Beeches’ site which was developed by United Welsh.
Caerphilly has a high demand for good quality homes and this development will enable more homes to be built with the profits from the properties being recycled to help fund the construction of affordable rented homes.
The council will benefit from some return from the rental on the homes in return for allowing United Welsh to develop the land. The homes for sale are being marketed under the ‘harmoni homes’ brand which is part of United Welsh.
Cllr Keith Reynolds, Leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council said, “It was really pleasing to see that progress has already started on site. Delivering high quality market and affordable homes in our county borough continues to be a priority for us, and partnerships such as this one are helping us make real strides in achieving this.
“Developments such as this one not only help us greatly in working to meet housing needs in our area, but they also have real potential to deliver far-reaching benefits for the wider community too”.
Director of Development for United Welsh Richard Mann said, “We’re delighted to launch our first scheme under the harmoni homes brand which will see the construction of 16 quality homes for sale in a prime location.
“We’re looking forward to seeing this development come to fruition. This is an innovative, landmark partnership between the United Welsh Group and the Council which will see the delivery of high quality homes, to a higher specification and sustainable design and goes towards meeting the housing needs of Caerphilly. In addition to the new homes we have committed to deliver 197 paid weeks, and 38 unpaid weeks of training placements in construction to local people”.
