October’s Entertainment At Blackwood Miners’ Institute
Blackwood Miners’ Institute have a whole host of fantastic performances on offer throughout October, which promise to entertain and excite.
Big Mac’s Wholly Soul Band will perform on Saturday 8th October at 8:30pm as part of their 26th anniversary celebrations.
The fantastic eleven piece band will give a high energy performance of non-stop classic sixties soul and Tamla mow town hits. Featuring big, brassy soul at its finest, which will make the audience get up and dance! Ticket £14 in advance/ £15 on the door.
The Good Earth, an explosive play inspired by real events comes to Blackwood on Tuesday 11th October at 7:30pm.
In 1973, the villagers of Troedrhiwgwair in Tredegar, Blaenau Gwent, were ordered to leave their homes amid fears of a landslide. But the determined villagers defied the authorities, demanding proof of the danger with which they were threatened and sparking a battle that would be fought for a generation. Tickets cost just £10 / £8.00 concessions.
Come along and witness Born This Way – A Lady GaGa Experience with Donna Marie as Lady Gaga on Friday 14th October. The show is visually stunning and recreates all of the drama, glitz and glamour of Lady GaGa’s most memorable performances. Tickets cost £20 (meet and greet package)/£17.50/£12.
Young children and parents are invited to take part in Sponge on Wednesday 19th October.
Families can experience an interactive adventure through a multi-sensory wonderland on Wednesday 19th October at 11am or 1:30pm. Two friendly dancers will guide the way, revealing small and large-scale squishy, squashy environments which are fascinating in shape and texture. Tickets £.350 for 1 baby and 1 adult. Sponge is suitable for children age 6 months to 4 years.
Blackwood Miners’ Institute presents An Evening of Burlesque on Thursday 20th October at 7:30pm.
Come along and experience the glamour of burlesque! As one of the oldest forms of classic variety, burlesque offers an entertainment experience unlike any other. Tickets cost £20.
