Opening Of Islwyn High School In 2017
Former staff and pupils at Pontllanfraith Comprehensive School are celebrating the end of an era as the school prepares to close in preparation for the opening of Islwyn High School in 2017.
There are a number of celebration events taking place, including a series of open days at Pontllanfraith Comprehensive which will explore the school through the decades.
Monday 11 July, 10am – 12pm – Open Day for former pupils and staff (pre 1960s)
Tuesday 12 July, 10am – 12pm – Open Day for former pupils and staff (1960s – 1980s)
Wednesday 13 July, 10am – 12pm – – Open Day for former pupils and staff (pre 1990s – present)
There will also be a number of evening events taking place between 12 – 15 July, including special community concerts and a garden party on Friday 15 July.
