Parents And Carers Invited To Have Their Say On Childcare Provision In Caerphilly County Borough
Caerphilly County Borough Council is inviting parents, childcare providers, employers and those with an interest in childcare locally to comment on childcare provision across the county borough.
The Caerphilly Childcare Sufficiency Assessment 2017 is a report that brings together a range of information to develop a picture of the current childcare market and to identify whether there are any gaps in supply. As part of the assessment process, a detailed parent and carer survey was carried out last summer. The report is now open for public consultation.
Claire Howells of Penpedairheol completed the survey as a mother to be and was randomly selected from 451 parents and carers who had completed the survey to win £50 high street vouchers. Claire intends to spend the prize money on essentials for her new baby.
The findings of the parent and carer survey were incorporated into the draft Childcare Sufficiency Assessment and residents and stakeholders are being given the opportunity to highlight relevant issues or concerns and further share their views regarding childcare provision now and in the future.
The consultation will run for 28 days from 3rd March to 31st March 2017.
