The Caerphilly 10K is back on Sunday 18th June 2017, and registration is now open! ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

This year over 2,300 runners of all abilities descended on Caerphilly from across the country to enjoy the event. Organisers are hoping that next year’s race will be bigger and better with thousands of participants and spectators expected to turn out for the event. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Owain Jones crossed the 10k finish line first with an impressive time of 31 minutes and 3 seconds, beating his time last year by 14 seconds. Owain, who is a member of the Bristol and West Athletics Club, retains his title for the third consecutive year. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Set in the shadow of the spectacular Caerphilly Castle, runners will have the opportunity to aim for a good finish time on a relatively flat course. The route will lead participants in and around the town centre, passing iconic landmarks including the giant cheese sculpture and Tommy Cooper statue along the way and offering great views of the medieval castle. There’s also the chance to enter the ‘Caerphilly 10k Team Challenge’ as well as the Junior 2K run. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The Caerphilly 10K is organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council and is supported by Welsh Athletics, Run Wales and Sport Wales. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
