The critically acclaimed London West End show, Revlon Girl, visits Blackwood Miners’ Institute.
Opening on Friday 21 October until Saturday 22 October, this deeply moving play, based on real life events, follows a group of bereaved mothers 8 months after the Aberfan disaster of 1966. The mothers realise they have let themselves go, so they secretly arrange a visit from a representative from Revlon to give a demonstration.
Written by Neil Anthony Docking (Casualty and Emmerdale) and directed by Maxine Evans (Stella and Call the Midwife) the show has already received excellent reviews.
“The Revlon Girl must surely rank as one of the best pieces of new writing in London at the moment.” Ian Foster, There Ought To Be Clowns.
“Anyone who questions the ability of theatre to shine a light on the human condition should be afforded the privilege of sitting through a performance of this seminal work.” Geraint Thomas, South Wales Evening Post.
Maxine Evans, who plays Rhian in Stella, will be replacing Sarah Jayne Hopkins in this touring production.
Tickets for the showings cost £14 per adult and £12 per child/concession.
