School Celebrates Incredible Donation
A bespoke Sunshine Coach has been presented to Trinity Fields School in Ystrad Mynach.
Donated by Variety the Children’s Charity and The Jane Hodge Foundation, the specifically designed vehicle will allow pupils to attend educational visits linked to their term-time curriculum, as well as swimming and other sporting sessions.
Trinity Fields School provides education and specialist facilities for pupils aged 3-19 years, who have a wide range of learning difficulties.
Karen Hodge, speaking on behalf of the Foundation said, “The headmaster Ian Elliott, the staff and governors at Trinity Fields School and Resource Centre are making a wonderful contribution to the lives of children in mid-Glamorgan with learning difficulties. In this forward-looking school we see a dedicated team of teachers and supporters who are determined to give the pupils in their care more fulfilled lives by making the very best of the opportunities available to them. By having their own transport, they can now get out and about safely at a time of their choosing. I am therefore delighted that the Hodge Foundation has been able to help and hope the coach assists the school to achieve its aim of becoming a centre of excellence.”
Ian Elliot, Head teacher at Trinity Fields School said: “As Trinity Fields School has grown in size our current Sunshine Coach has been in even greater demand, whilst at the same time getting older by the day. Having a brand new coach will mean that we can get more of our pupils out and about, allowing them to learn more readily from a wider range of real life experiences. On behalf of our pupils, governors, parents and staff we are so very grateful to The Jane Hodge Foundation for sponsoring our new Variety Sunshine Coach. Your sponsorship has made our application a reality. Thank you so much!”
Pamela Sinclair, Variety’s Chief Barker said “Variety’s specialist minibuses ensure that children can interact with the world around them and experience a fun, entertaining and educational environment, whilst ensuring they are transported as safely as possible. I am delighted to be presenting Trinity Fields School with their Sunshine Coach today and want to also say thank you to the Jane Hodge Foundation for their generous sponsorship. I have no doubt this coach will transform the lives of the children at Trinity Fields for many years to come.”
Cllr Derek Havard, Cabinet Member for Education and Lifelong Learning said, “Thank you to both charities for donating this valuable Sunshine Coach. Without a doubt, this will hugely benefit Trinity Fields School enabling them to transport the pupils to places which will see their skills develop through real-life experiences.”
