The Caerphilly Challenge Series is back and bigger than ever. Saturday the 6th of May will see beginners, seasoned walkers and even runners tackle the Wild Boar Challenge in the stunning surrounds of the Upper Rhymney Valley. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Participants are invited to choose from a range of options from shorter led walks of 1 – 5 miles or 11 miles, to longer more challenging routes of 14 miles or the ultimate 22 mile challenge. The self-led options are best suited to those who can read a map and get themselves around the route independently. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning & Sustainable Development, Cllr. Ken James said, “This is a fantastic annual event which sees hundreds of like-minded residents and visitors join together to explore our beautiful Countryside. The popularity of the challenge grows year on year and that is attributed to the fantastic organisation and participant support shown by the Countryside team in addition to the varying options available to suit all fitness levels.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Tickets cost just £10 and are available to purchase until the closing date on Sunday 26th of April. An early bird option is available at the reduced price of £8 for those who book before the 1st of February. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The 1-5 mile route doesn’t require advanced booking and costs just £2 to enter. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
