Spellbound Children Celebrate Harry Potter Book Night Throughout Caerphilly

Fans of all things Harry Potter flocked to libraries throughout Caerphilly county borough for a celebration of the boy wizard during Harry Potter Book Night. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

School pupils and children from the county borough took part in activities including making owl masks, a Prisoner of Azkaban photo booth, sorting hat quiz, colouring activities, word searches and an acrostic poetry competition. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The events were well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by all, with hundreds of children and adults visiting libraries to take part. A total 70 children and adults visited White Rose Resource Centre, while 65 children visited Pengam Library to take part in themed sessions. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Children also visited Nelson Library, where a total of 83 school pupils attended sessions during the day and a further 19 children attended the session in the afternoon. 54 children also took part in Risca Library, while a staggering 130 children attended Caerphilly Library. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Visitors to Bargoed Library had an extra special treat, with owls visiting from Falconry UK, with the support of Bargoed Town Council. This event proved very popular, with a total of 180 children and 90 adults visiting the library’s evening session, while 168 school pupils visited throughout the day to take part in Harry Potter themed games and activities. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
