Sport Caerphilly Helps Students Become Qualified Dance Leaders

13 students have successfully achieved a Sport Leaders Dance Leaders Level 1 qualification following a training course and assessment on Monday 8th August. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The course was held in conjunction with Sport Caerphilly and UDOIT Dance Foundation which offers students age 11 and over the opportunity to receive a level 1 Sports Leaders Dance Leaders qualification. The assessment was successfully passed by all 13 students who attended the assessment. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Students from Caerphilly, Bridgend, Cardiff and Rhondda Cynon Taf took part in the training course and assessment which involved delivering a 10 minute warm up to their peers in the presence of an independent assessor as well as completing a 1 hour leadership log. Now qualified, the students can assist the delivery of dance within their community setting. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Cllr Nigel George, Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure Services said: “Well done to everyone who successfully achieved their level 1 Sport Leaders Dance Leaders qualification following a training course and assessment. I look forward to seeing how they progress as Dance Leaders”. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
