Friday 13, if you’re heading out make sure you know your limits, and know how you’re getting home. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Getting home by bus – There have been recent changes to some bus services across Caerphilly county borough, with more changes due to take effect next week. You can check bus timetables here. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Travelling by train – You can get the latest train times by visiting National Rail Enquiries. For updates from Arriva Trains Wales you can follow them on Twitter @ArrivaTW. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Using a taxi – If you’re planning on using a taxi, make sure it’s licensed. Licensed Caerphilly County Borough Council Private Hire Vehicles and Hackney Carriages are distinguished from illegal taxis by a white or yellow plate affixed to the rear of the vehicle, which identifies the vehicle as a licensed taxi. A smaller license is also affixed to the inside of the windscreen, mirroring the details of the external license plate. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Each licensed taxi driver must wear photo ID at all times containing their name and unique license number. All licenses and identification will also carry the Caerphilly County Borough Council logo. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The penalty for operating an unlicensed taxi is a fine of up to £1,000 for each time the vehicle is used and a further fine of up to £1,000 for failing to have a license to drive a taxi. Those operating such taxis will also be liable for a fine of up to £5,000 for not carrying the proper insurance, as well as 6 Penalty Points being added to their license for each offence. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
