Residents are being reminded that the prestigious Tour of Britain will pass through parts of the county borough on Thursday 8 September between 11am and midday. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The route will see world class riders enter the county borough at Nelson continuing through Ystrad Mynach, Maesycwmmer, Pontllanfraith, Oakdale, Croespenmaen and Crumlin before entering Torfaen at the top of Hafodrynys Hill. Residents are encouraged to line the streets to support the cyclists on the 5th day of the race as they tackle the 194.5Km route from Aberdare to Bath. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

To allow the race to pass safely there will be temporary road closures in place between approximately 11am and midday. Disruption will be kept to a minimum throughout, and organisers apologise in advance for any disruption caused during this short road closure period. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
