Trading Standards Warn Of ‘Bogus’ Council Officer Reports

The council’s Trading Standards team have been made aware of a number of instances where people claiming to be council workers have called at addresses in the county borough. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

In the first instance, the person claimed to be there to ‘cut down a tree’ and in the second, the person claimed to be there to ‘measure up for a new bathroom’. Council workers carry official council ID and where possible will have arranged the visit beforehand. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
