Active Eastern Reopens This Weekend

Active Eastern – the new look Eastern Leisure Centre in Llanrumney – reopens this weekend after a multi-million pound facelift. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Cardiff’s newest leisure venue will feature dedicated spin class spaces, a five-lane swimming pool and a modern café serving healthy snacks and high quality coffee. The Strength and Functional Fitness Zone will be one of the largest and best-equipped of any facility in the city. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Cabinet Member for Community Development, Co-operatives and Social Enterprise, Cllr Peter Bradbury said: “I am absolutely delighted with this new facility and I am sure that residents will be equally impressed when they go and see the new centre for themselves. Before it was closed for refurbishment Eastern Leisure Centre used to attract about 250,000 residents every year and I think that following this £6.5 million investment visitor numbers and fitness levels will go from strength to strength.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Active Eastern will reopen on Saturday 20th August 8:30am to 6pm. On this first day between 10:30 and 14:30 free classes will be available for residents to showcase the new attractions available at Active Eastern. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
