Are You Interested In Volunteering For The Cardiff Story Museum?

The Cardiff Story Museum is looking for volunteers! There will be an afternoon tea party held at the museum on Wednesday 8th June, between 2pm – 4pm where people can come along, meet the team, talk to other volunteers and find out how to get involved. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The volunteer roles offered at the museum vary from assisting the front of house team to help visitors in the galleries, helping the learning team with children’s craft events and assisting the behind the scenes staff with roles such as data input and publicity. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Cabinet Member for Community Development, Cooperatives and Social Enterprise, Cllr Bradbury said: “The Cardiff Story Museum has a great record for helping people get involved with the work they do. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Since its opening five years ago, 193 volunteers have given their time to help the museum achieve its goals and volunteering can help individuals achieve theirs too. 46 volunteers have got a job or place on a course because of their work with the museum reiterating the Council’s priorities to create a better education and skills for all.”
Museum Manager Victoria Rogers said: “Whatever your reason for getting involved, whether it’s to increase your employability or to meet new people and have fun, volunteering at the museum is a great way to learn more about the history of the city, build your skills, find new interests or new friends.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Volunteer Kat said: “The museum means a lot to me because of the wonderful team of staff who have supported my development and learning with kindness and passion. I feel very privileged to be able to work within such an exciting museum!” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
