Community Cohesion Statement
Core Cities UK Cabinet has met to discuss the impact of the UK’s vote to leave the UK on their cities’ economies and communities.
Cabinet agreed to write an open letter to the new Prime Minister and will present a vision and a strategy on how exit from the EU can be done to provide greatest benefit to cities across the UK.
Core Cities UK Chair Cllr Judith Blake said: “Core Cities cabinet are keen to point out that all our cities are welcoming, tolerant and diverse communities whose economies and societies have benefited from migration not just from the EU but from all over the world.
“We completely reject racist and xenophobic behaviour by however small a minority and in our joint work we will bring the focus back to how we can generate more growth that benefits everyone in the cities we represent.”
