Cardiff Met Shares Best Practice At QAA Event On Partner Student Engagement
The Students’ Union and University recently presented at an event hosted by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA). The theme of the event was student engagement in collaborative partners.
After receiving QAA recognition for its engagement with students at partner institutions, Cardiff Met was asked to present a detailed case study.
When presenting the case study, Cardiff Met spoke at length about the annual Students’ Union partner event which sees students from partner institutions travel to Cardiff Met to take part in training and workshops. The Cardiff Met representatives also spoke about the Students’ Union visits to partner institutions abroad and in the UK.
Hannah Reilly and Amy Campbell from the Students’ Union presented at the event alongside Gaby Tobin from the Academic Standards and Quality Unit at the University. Tamara Kichukova, who studies at Perrotis College in Greece, also attended the event and spoke about her experience of being a Cardiff Met student at a partner university.
Tamara spoke about how the Students’ Union partner event in Cardiff and the Students’ Union officers’ links to her college in Greece have helped her feel part of the Cardiff Met community and increased participation in the Students’ Union elections at Perrotis College to 60%.

“With around 6,500 partner students studying Cardiff Met programmes at 17 partners in 18 countries around the world, we have worked closely with the University to adopt varying initiatives to increase engagement with partner students.
“We were therefore delighted to have the opportunity to share our experiences and best practice with the audience at the QAA Quality Enhancement Network event.”
