Future Financiers Benefit From Opening Of City-Standard Bloomberg Trading Suite
A new Trading Suite has recently opened at Cardiff School of Management in response to the increasing demand from industry and government for financially trained graduates.
Cardiff School of Management (CSM) has invested in a new, state-of-the-art Bloomberg Training Suite after experts from its Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance visited a range of possible alternatives both at other universities and in the City.
Bloomberg have a unique mix of cutting edge technology, in depth data – with a global range – and excellent customer services for student end users.
Students will also benefit from the added employability edge that the Bloomberg facility offers. Bloomberg Terminals are the market leader among financial institutions around the world and experience of using this for higher level study will make a major difference at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The University’s motto – The Most Valuable Possession is Knowledge – was key in this substantial investment in the student experience, which ensures stimulation through the closest simulation to a trading floor as possible.
The suite is fully functional and is being integrated into a wide range of courses including CSM’s new Masters programmes in Accounting & Finance, Banking & Finance and Economics & Finance.
Commenting on the new facility, Professor David Brooksbank, Dean of the School of Management said: “We have recognised the need for our finance graduates to be ready to work immediately in fast-changing and dynamic environments and this investment means that they will have practised many of the roles and functions that financial institutions hire into. As a business-led and business-facing School, we want companies to have confidence that our students are eminently employable and we want our students to know that they are learning at the cutting-edge of real world experience.”
