Graduation Success In Morocco

Cardiff Metropolitan University recently attended the Cardiff Met and Superior Institute of Science and Technology (SIST) graduation ceremony in Morocco. The University’s President and Vice Chancellor, Professor Antony Chapman, Pro Vice Chancellor (International), Professor Mohamed Loutfi and International Engagement Manager, Mr AbouBakr Fathalla, were present. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Cardiff Met entered into a transnational education (TNE) partnership with SIST in 2009 offering programmes at campuses in Casablanca, Rabat and Tangier. In November 2015, in recognition of the excellent relations and developments between the two institutions, SIST was awarded the status of Associate College of Cardiff Metropolitan University. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The British Ambassador to Morocco, Her Excellency Karen Elizabeth Betts, attended the graduation ceremony and gave a speech to the new graduates. The British Ambassador noted the successful partnership between Cardiff Met and SIST: “It goes without saying, how proud the British Government is of the partnership between SIST and Cardiff Metropolitan University. SIST, with its campuses in Rabat, Casablanca, Tangiers, and soon Marrakech, is among the pioneers of British education in Morocco, and I salute the determination and dedication of the university’s administrative and teaching staff.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Professor Antony Chapman said: “Our degrees are, quite rightly, renowned throughout the world, and we are very careful to ensure that our partners are able to deliver a high standard of university education – this is certainly the case with SIST. Our partnership with SIST continues to flourish and we are extremely proud to award SIST the status of Associate College of the University – this is a special level of partner and one that reflects the close and strategic relationship between Cardiff Met and SIST.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

During the visit to Morocco, the Cardiff Met delegation visited SIST’s new campus, which is currently being developed and is under construction, in Marrakesh. This will be the newest addition to its vast expansion in Morocco. ​​ ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
