Event Explores Ways Of Working With Cardiff University

Experts will gather in Cardiff later this month to share ideas and advice on how to turn leading-edge research into ‘real world’ projects that can transform business and society. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

A panel of specialists from business, academia and government will explain how university ideas can be turned into products and services that generate economic and social benefits. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The event – organised by Cardiff University Innovation Network – will look at different ways businesses and organisations work with universities, and explore which ingredients make for successful projects. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Dr Nick Bourne, Head of Commercial Development at Cardiff University, said: “Currently, academia, businesses and the public sector can engage through a variety of funded schemes such as Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs), Knowledge Exchange Skills Scholarship (KESS2) and the Welsh Government’s SMART Expertise programme. The aim of this session is to simplify the landscape, cut through any jargon, and explore how businesses and organisations can work effectively with universities.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
