Residents Invited To Love Grangetown
Grangetown residents are being invited to suggest ideas to further improve their community by teaming up with the University.
The Community Gateway project, part of the University’s Transforming Communities programme, is hosting its second Love Grangetown event on Saturday 23 April.
Community groups, residents and University staff will discuss projects to help make Grangetown an even better place.
Residents attending last year’s Love Grangetown event helped identify nine themes, such as clean streets and green spaces, community meeting places, safe Grangetown and road respect.
Community partners, residents and University staff and students have worked together over the past 12 months to launch many successful projects addressing these themes.
Community Gateway has now supported more than 30 projects including a philosophy cafe, a shop local and business forum campaign, a research study around greening parts of Grangetown, a week of community safety activities, litter picks and a schools’ advisory panel to name just a few.
This year’s Love Grangetown takes place on Saturday 23 April from 1300 to 1600 at Grange Pavilion, Grange Gardens, Grangetown. All residents are welcome to come along and find out more about what the project has achieved in the past 12 months and have their say on what comes next.
Stalls will also offer fun activities for adults and children, and free tea and cake will be provided.

Community Gateway is one of the University’s five flagship engagement projects – otherwise known as its Transforming Communities programme.
The University is working with Welsh Government and communities in Cardiff, Wales and beyond in areas including health, education and wellbeing.
