Leading representatives from RB (formerly Reckitt Benckiser) will give students an insight into what it is like to work in a multinational company whilst also explaining the RB product development and innovation process. In addition, a workshop will be hosted on how to deliver impactful presentations and speeches, to help upskill students as they start thinking about leaving university and building their careers. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Undergraduate and postgraduate students from Cardiff, Bath and Bristol will attend the event, which is being hosted at the University’s School of Chemistry. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Opening proceedings will be led by Dr Sharon James, Senior Vice President of Global Research & Development at RB, who is originally from Cardiff. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Ahead of the event, Sharon said: “I am really looking forward to meeting the students and giving them an opportunity to get to know our company…” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The event is one of a number that are held at the University throughout the year to give students an invaluable insight into life after graduating and to prepare them as they enter the jobs market. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

A recent survey undertaken by Times Higher Education ranked the University among the best institutions in the UK for preparing graduates for the workplace. The University was ranked joint 14th in the UK for producing work-ready graduates, making it the highest ranked universities in Wales on this measure, and one of the best in the UK outside of London. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Professor Rudolf Allemann, Head of the School of Chemistry, said: “It is vitally important that our students are given an insight into life after university, and events such as this are a perfect way of showcasing the wide-ranging careers that are on offer to them once they graduate…” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Inspired by a purpose to deliver innovative solutions for healthier lives and happier homes, RB is in the top 20 companies listed on the London Stock Exchange. RB’s health, hygiene and home portfolio is led by its global brands, including Nurofen, Strepsils, Gaviscon, Durex, Dettol, Veet, Harpic, Finish and Vanish. The company has operations in over 60 countries and employs 37,000 staff. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
