Members of Conwy County Borough Council have today [04/03/16] set the Council Tax and Budget for 2016/17.
Cllr Goronwy Edwards, Cabinet Member for Finance introduced the report to the meeting of the Council.
He explained, “To get to this point, it’s taken a great deal of time and effort from Members and Officers working together to find solutions. I’d like to thank everyone who took the opportunity to get involved and for their input in the process.”
The Council approved the Budget and set the Council Tax for 2016/17.
The Council supported the recommendation that Conwy County Borough Council’s part of the Band D Council Tax for 2016/17 be £1,063.76. That’s an increase of £50.65 for the year (equivalent to 97p extra per week).
Cllr Edwards added, “We continue to face many difficult years ahead and the only way we’ll achieve our aims is if we continue with our calm and structured approach to setting a balanced budget.”
