Candidates Announced For Cil-Y-Cwm By-Election

Seven candidates are contesting the county council seat in the Cil-y-Cwm by-election taking place on September 22. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The seat was left vacant after the sudden death of former county councillor Tom Theophilus, who had held it since Carmarthenshire became a unitary authority in 1996. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The seven candidates are: ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

• Thomas Davies, Independent
• Steven Holmes, Welsh Conservative Party
• Catherine Nakielny, Welsh Liberal Democrats
• Matthew Paul, Independent
• Jacqui Thompson, People First – Fighting for the Community
• Dayfdd Tomos, Plaid Cymru
