Un Sir Gar/One Carmarthenshire is taking its one stop shop The Hub on tour around the county. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The Hub opened its doors in Llanelli Town Centre in May 2014 and brings together all advice, information, education, voluntary and employment opportunities in the county. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Yesterday the Hub set up shop in St Catherine’s Walk, Carmarthen, to entice town centre shoppers to find out more. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Carmarthenshire County Council Gateway manager Emma Rees said: “The Hub is on tour. We have a range of partners here today including Workways, the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Prime Cymru, the Prince’s Trust, Parents Childcare and Employment, Trinity St David. Pobl (formerly Gwalia), the Family Information Service, and Work Choice. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“The purpose is to take the Hub out to other parts of Carmarthenshire. We have been to Ammanford, are here in Carmarthen, and will visit Newcastle Emlyn and Llandovery. We enable people to get information on jobs, training, housing and volunteering in one place instead of having to go round the houses to find out.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Development officer Paolo Piana of Prime Cymru, the Prince’s Initiative for Mature Enterprise in Wales dedicated to providing practical support to people aged 50 and over who want to become and remain economically active, said: “Events like this taking the Hub out on tour in the community gives people the opportunity to see the work that we do.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Carmarthenshire County Council executive board member for regeneration and leisure Cllr Meryl Gravell said: “The Hub has proved its worth as a one stop shop and by going out on tour around the county it is able to introduce its services to many more people.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The Hub tour will continue with a visit to Llandovery on September 9 in the YMCA building and on to Newcastle Emlyn on September 22 in The Clock Tower. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
