Dafydd Tomos has been elected the new Carmarthenshire County Councillor for the Cilycwm ward. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

A by-election was held today following the death of former councillor Tom Theophilus. Results of the by election are as follows: ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Maria Carroll, Welsh Labour – 123
Thomas Davies, Independent – 151
Steven Holmes, Welsh Conservative Party -15
Catherine Nakielny, Welsh Liberal Democrats – 62
Matthew Paul, Independent – 106
Jacqui Thompson, People First – Fighting for the Community – 64
Dafydd Tomos, Plaid Cymru – 201 ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The turnout was 61 per cent ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
