A NEW funding scheme has been launched by Carmarthenshire County Council to support people who organise events and festivals. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Funding is open to those who currently organise or who wish to organise events, and could offer a maximum of £5,000 – at up to half of the total cost – where the event will make a big impact on the economic development of Carmarthenshire. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Communication support can also be offered. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The fund is part of the council’s events support strategy and comes just months after the launch of an event organisers circle which has seen over 100 event organisers sign up for support and networking opportunities. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Executive Board Member for regeneration, Cllr Meryl Gravell, said: “We recognise the importance of events in supporting our communities and towns, the contribution they can make to the local economy and how they attract visitors to Carmarthenshire. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“This event fund is just one way we are supporting events in our county which have the most potential to meet these objectives.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Event organisers can apply on line at www.carmarthenshire.gov.uk/organising-events. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
