Educate About Shed Security

Police will be out in the centre of Carmarthen next week helping people to learn more about how to keep their garden sheds secure. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Community Safety Officers will be carrying out a crime prevention initiative called Sheducate where they will have a shed on demonstration from a local company with security screws inserted. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The event will be held alongside the clock tower by Carmarthen Market next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (May 23-25) 10am to 3.30pm. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Carmarthenshire Community Safety Partnership has funded special security screws that will be used as part of the demonstration along with a vehicle number plate securing initiative. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Carmarthenshire County Council executive board member for Community Safety Cllr Pam Palmer said: “I would urge people to find out more about how to keep their property secure in their sheds. I’m pleased that the CSP has been able to support this timely initiative.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
