Family World Funfair Comes To Llanelli Town Centre
There’s even more reason to get down to Llanelli Town Centre during half term week as Spring Gardens plays host to Family World – an unlimited ride attraction for young children and families.
Family World has been brought to the town centre by Carmarthenshire County Council as part of its efforts to encourage more footfall and trade for local shops and businesses.
It will take place from Monday, May 30, to Sunday June 5, with unlimited rides and free face painting throughout the day.
There will be meet and greet sessions with children’s characters on May 30 and June 4 and 5.
Rides include swirling tea cups, chairoplanes and cars, as well as twisters, jumping frog and a ghost train.
There will also be an old-fashioned Helter Skelter, hoopla stalls, trampolines and inflatables.
Parents pay just once – each wristband costs £6.99 which allows up to four hours at the fair, with two daily sessions from 12pm-4pm or 4pm til 8pm. A non-riding wristband costs just £2.
Leader of the council, Cllr Emlyn Dole, chairs a Llanelli Town Centre Taskgroup which brings together businesses and community leaders to look at ways of improving trade.
Marketing and events in the town centre was identified as one of the top five priorities.
“One of the things that came up in our discussions was the need to bring more family-friendly events to the town to give people another incentive to visit,” he said.
“Family World has proved popular in Carmarthen Park previously, so we’re really pleased to be bringing it to Llanelli during half-term week.
“We’re hoping lots of families will come to town to visit Family World and pop into the shops to pick up a few things from our local traders whilst they’re here.”
