Festival To Showcase Hockey Skills

It was sticks to the ready as over 50 schoolchildren took part in a hockey festival.
Some eight primary schools including Hendy, Bryn, Tycroes and Swiss Valley came together to show off their hockey skills.
A mix of Year 5 boys and girls spent the morning at Hendy Park with sport and leisure officers developing their abilities and competing against each other.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s sport and leisure team linked in with Hendy Community & Parks Committee and Llanedi Community Council to organise the morning event.
The council’s sport and leisure officer, Ali Discombe said: “Everyone had a great time and it was the perfect opportunity for them to experience a competitive game.”
Hockey sessions are held at Hendy MUGA every Friday between 6-7pm for ages five plus. The classes are fun and engaging, and are run by qualified coaches.
