Visitors who buy from Llanelli and Carmarthen indoor markets will be treated to free recipe cards in the New Year. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

There are four mouth-watering dishes on the cards to give to shoppers throughout January and these will be distributed from the stalls once a purchase is made. Ingredients are available to buy within the markets. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Recipes will include Penclawdd cockles and the Welsh delicacy, laverbread. Carmarthen ham, a traditional Welsh dish and a savoury plate will also feature. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

There is limited stock available so people are urged to pop down to their local market from January 7 to avoid disappointment. A different recipe card will be given away each week until the end of the month or while stocks last. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The council’s executive board membe for markets, Cllr David Jenkins said: “We have some great Welsh recipes to give away and together with the top quality local produce which can be bought in other markets, the dishes are guaranteed to tantalise your taste buds.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Both markets are open Monday to Saturday. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
