ravel pass card holders are being asked to urgently check their card is currently valid or they could find travel opportunity blocked from January, 2017. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

There are more than 40,000 concessionary travel pass holders in Carmarthenshire and it has been discovered there are about 200 still in use that have been hot listed, largely because they have been reported lost or stolen. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Carmarthenshire County Council Executive Board Member for transport services, Cllr Hazel Evans, said: “Checks have shown that these cards are being used by the original recipients and sometimes on the same day as the valid replacement cards. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“This suggests that some people are carrying more than one card around with them. This could happen with their having reported one card as missing, paid for a replacement, then found the original cards and are now still using both – or more than two in some cases. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“From January First Cymru’s ticket machines will have a blocker put on hot listed cards, so we need to get the word out there for people to make sure that they only retain and use their valid card.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
