Join Carmarthenshire Healthy Schools On Twitter!
Parents, pupils and school staff can now keep up to date with Carmarthenshire’s Healthy Schools team on Twitter.
The team visits schools across the county promoting the importance of a healthy lifestyle under seven key health topics: personal development and relationships; mental and emotional health and wellbeing; food and fitness; substance use and misuse; environment; safety; and hygiene.
Healthy Schools is a joint initiative between the Welsh Government, Carmarthenshire County Council and Public Health Wales.
Using the new Twitter account, the team hopes to further their engagement and let everyone know how schools are responding to their work.
The Twitter handle is @ysgoliachsirgar.
Healthy Schools Officer Angharad Vaughan-Owen said: “Through our new Twitter account we will be able to celebrate the achievements of the schools and give parents an insight into the kind of work we are doing with our children and young people. We will also be able to promote partnership working on a regional and national level.”
Cllr Gareth Jones, Executive Board Member for Education, said: “This is a great way to reach out to pupils, parents and schools to share the good news about what is being achieved in promoting health and wellbeing.”
