Man Fined For Littering Thanks To Witness Report

A man has been fined for littering after a witness came forward and reported it to the council. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

He was seen throwing litter from his car in the Tycroes area and a witness took down the registration number and reported it to the environmental enforcement unit. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

As a result, they were able to trace the owner of the car who admitted the offence and was issued with a fixed penalty notice for £75. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Now people are being urged to help clean up the county by reporting any incidents either online or by phone. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Executive Board Member for Environmental and Public Protection Cllr Jim Jones said: “Keeping Carmarthenshire clean is a key priority for the council; however, we cannot do it alone, we need the help of the public. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Any reports made will be investigated by officers and fines will be issued to the culprits.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
