Resident Fined For Continually Putting Rubbish Out
A Carmarthen resident has been fined £100 for continually putting their rubbish out days before their collection.
Environmental enforcement officers issued the householder with a fixed penalty notice for failing to comply with the council’s recycling scheme.
They had already been issued with a Section 46 notice under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 setting out how and when they should present their household waste for collection.
They had been warned that failure to comply with the notice would result in a fine.
Executive Board Member for Environmental and Public Protection Cllr Jim Jones said: “The resident was continuously putting their rubbish out days before collection was due. This was causing an unnecessary obstruction, it was unsightly and there was a risk of the bags being ripped open by animals causing a mess.
“Residents are advised to put out their bags no earlier than 6pm the evening before their collection is due.”
