Essential road maintenance works will be taking place in Hendy near the M4 junction between Sunday, August 21 and Thursday, August 25. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The resurfacing works will be carried out between 8pm and 6am on the A4138 under the M4 motorway bridge. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The works are being carried out during the night in order to keep disruption to a minimum as much as possible. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The road will be closed between these times and diversions will be in place. The eastbound slip road leaving the M4 for Hendy and Llanelli at junction 48 from the Pont Abraham direction will also be closed. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The alternative route for east bound traffic coming from Llanelli will be via the M4 to Pont Abraham. Traffic bound for Hendy or Pontarddulais will need to follow the same route and take the A48 Fforest road through to Pontarddulais / Hendy. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The alternative route for traffic coming from the Pont Abraham direction along the M4 for Llanelli will be to continue on the M4 to Swansea West at junction 47 and then to return on the M4 westbound leaving at junction 48 on the opposite slip road. Traffic from Hendy for Llanelli should join the M4 and follow the same route. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

We apologise for any inconvenience caused, however, these works are essential. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
