Road Traffic Collision Between Pedestrian And Car: Clarence Place, Newport

At 1.30pm today we received reports of a collision between a Silver Ford Focus and a female pedestrian at Clarence Place in Newport. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The pedestrian has been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Town Bridge is shut in both directions and diversions are in place. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible due to heavy congestion. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
