Businesses Offered Roundabout Promotion Opportunity
Businesses in the Merthyr Tydfil area have two days left to seize the chance of promoting themselves to a huge passing audience.
Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council is offering the opportunity to advertise on 15 roundabouts passed by thousands of motorists every day, in locations ranging from the town centre and retail parks to gateway routes to the county borough.
Sponsorship costs between £1,500 a year for smaller roundabouts in quieter areas and £3,500 a year for prime locations. The sponsorships will run for three years, after which their availability will be re-advertised.
“The traffic through Merthyr Tydfil is increasingly on a daily basis, with growing numbers of people living, working, shopping and visiting the county borough,” said Chris Long, the Council’s Economic Development and Strategic Tourism Manager.
“Thousands pass these roundabouts, and they offer businesses an extremely effective way of getting their name across to a substantial number of potential customers, as well as helping improve the local environment.”
Key locations include Rhydycar, Trevithick Tunnel and the Prince Charles Hospital. The Council will be responsible for the design, production and erection of the signs, which will display the company’s name, logo and a short statement.
The closing date for expressions of interest in advertising is 12 noon this Friday (22 April). Organisations interested in bidding for the sites should contact Allyson Barnett on 01685 727417.
