Background
In June 2013, the Council agreed the Corporate Plan, which set out our priority areas for the four years from 2013 to 2017. Our improvement objectives (priority areas) are:
- Raising standards of attainment
- Promoting Independence
- Meeting the needs of vulnerable children
- Active Lifestyles
- Economic Development
- Employability
- A sustainable environment
Current Situation
On 15 June 2016, Council reconfirmed our seven improvement objectives (priority areas) in the Corporate Plan. They also confirmed an additional objective, to make the transition from our current improvement objectives (priority areas) to our new wellbeing objectives, which is the Wellbeing Duty as required by the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.
Key Considerations
In this, the final year of our current Corporate Plan, we will continue to deliver our improvement objectives (priority areas)
This year, we will also prepare for the Wellbeing Duty, which is to set and publish wellbeing objectives and take all reasonable steps to meet those wellbeing objectives
