Cyfarthfa Park Roman Excavation – Volunteers Needed!
Exciting news! We are now appealing for volunteers to take part in the next stage of our archaeological project.
This is a great opportunity to work alongside Glamorgan Gwent Archaeological Trust (GGAT) as they undertake a series of important trenching and excavation works to uncover and discover more about this important site, working in partnership with Merthyr Tydfil Leisure Trust, who now manage Cyfarthfa Park, and Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council.
Sessions, running Monday August 22nd to Friday August 26th and Tuesday August 30th to Sunday September 4th are completely free and are suitable for all ages (all under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult).
GGAT will also be giving visitors the chance to discover more about Roman history revealing an insight into day to day life with a series of fun re-enactments and activities for families including cooking and crafts.
Registration to take part in the project is essential, send your contact details to : Rebecca.meredith@merthyrleisuretrust.co.uk.
