Network Rail – Christmas Engineering Work
Network Rail will be undertaking a huge programme of work in the Cardiff area over the festive period – all part of our Railway Upgrade Plan. The work is part of the £300m Cardiff area signalling renewals (CASR) project and will modernise the railway in Cardiff and the Valleys, enabling the potential for more services to run on the network in the future.
Changes to services
As a result of our modernisation work, there will be changes to passenger services with many bus replacements in operation between Newport, Bridgend, the Valleys and Cardiff from late on Christmas Eve until Monday 2 January (inclusive).
There are also changes to services in and out of London Paddington with services diverted via Ealing Broadway. We are working closely with Arriva Trains Wales, Great Western Railway and Cross Country Trains to advise passengers to plan ahead via: www.nationalrail.co.uk/Christmas and www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk/Christmas2016.
